The Top 40 Basketball Movies - #6. Air

The Top 40 Basketball Movies - #6. Air

Matt Damon doing his character magic in a direct sequel to The Martian. Ha ha. Following up my favorite movie that didn't make the top 5 with the highest rated movie, also not making the top 5. Now we know how to skin a rabbit. There is actually not a lot of basketball in this movie at all, and I knew that going in but it still counts to me. This was the last movie I waited for to come out on streaming before finalizing my list. I've had it as low as 16 and high as 9, so I believe it is a top 10 movie which is where it falls but it has some incredible reviews, only beaten by Hoop Dreams on IMDB and RT Audience just shy of Hank Gathers. So it's not about basketball but the company of Nike and the shoe deal that they make with Michael Jordan for the Air Jordan brand. Nike starts off at a distant 3rd place to Adidas and Converse but this vehicle directed and acted by Ben Affleck follows Matt Damon trying everything possible in his power to get this deal done. Helping him along the way is Jason Bateman, the marketing VP. Damon's character Sonny's biggest hurdle other than wearing a fat suit is Jordan's mom played by Viola Davis. Sonny plays it perfect how he interacts with the people around him. It's almost a Moneyball type movie for baseball equivalency or Draft Day for football. Strong cast beyond the Affleck/Damon/Bateman trio, Chris Tucker, Jay Mohr, Marlon Wayans, Chris Messina. Damon said it was his favorite part. Ben Affleck consulted Michael several times on details. The soundtrack is so 80s, it's just wonderful. It's a recommend, especially to fans who like the behind the scenes sports movies and I'll probably watch it again at some point.

Vexing Devil Giving an opponent a choice is never a good idea. However I really feel like it's win win here in the aggressive deck. A 4/3 for one will almost always be worth a card. So the real question is - is it worth a card to deal 4 damage for a red? It's not quite Flame Slash good in a control deck, or as great top deck as Thunderous Wrath but better than Thunderbolt or Lava Axe . 19. Scute Mob Not a true one drop. But by turn six hopefully you are going get a hydra-like insect that will quickly get insanely huge if not dealt with. My biggest issue is that it doesn't have trample. It's still a great costed creature that can do some work if unchecked. There are lots of ways to give it Trample in Green not named Rancor . 18. Dragonmaster Outcast And yet another non-true o

50 Favorite Adult Swim Characters

I tried to get a good variety and yet be fair to what I like the most. I'm sure there are one I've missed and some that might be surprising but if it aired on Adult Swim - I can use it. I didn't use any characters from either Robot Chicken or Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! as they are basically clip shows and while good, the re-occurring characters aren't used enough. Also, it turns out H. Jon Benjamin is the voice for half these shows. 50. Chains     Fat Guy Stuck in Internet 49. Assy McGee    Assy McGee H. Jon Benjamin plays the mayor. 48.
