Shaken, Not Stirred: Ranking The Bond Movies - #15. On Her Majesty's Secret Service

On Her Majestys Secret Service
Not a happy ending in so many ways. At the end of the 60s and towards the relative end of Connery's Bond, we are given a George Lazenby (Golden Globe nominated) outing. The movie was a huge success and Lazenby was supposed to come back for Diamonds, but some level of hesitation on his part, cockiness on his part (wanted and sometimes failed to do his own stunts) and reviews (mostly negative, but Connery comparisons were inevitable) left George as the only one timer. We have an infiltrating Bond going into Blofeld's headquarters filled with women galore and try to stop a brainwashing scheme. Bond eventually get's married to lovely Diana Rigg's Tracy, but their marriage only lasts minutes as she gets gunned down by Blofeld. I don't know Telly Savalas or even George Lazenby from anything else and while I don't have a strong opinion on Lazenby other than he's worse than Connery but fluffier than Dalton, Savalas's Blofeld is a decent performance (though he's no Donald Pleasence). Peter Hunt would only direct his Bond, but he did editing on a handful of others. Nolan's favorite Bond and praises the balance between action, comedy, romance, tragedy, scale. All the typical Bond pieces are there. The same M, Q and Moneypenny return here. The ending has a good shootout fight, we have a Bond kidnapped after his partner gets killed and needs to break out situation. We have a good casino scene. There are a good number of quips in keeping with the Bond character. The end has a bobsled chase which is also pretty decent. I think overall the movie is decent, it rarely bores me, but it does hurt from the actor change (it feels like it's missing some star/wow power). The funniest part must be when all the women are coming on to him and he's setting different times with each of them individually. The youngest Bond at 29 but looks and feels much older. Dalton was targeted even then, almost 20 years earlier than he would get the part. The last time the famous Bond theme is played in a movie. The longest non Craig Bond runtime.

50 Favorite Adult Swim Characters

I tried to get a good variety and yet be fair to what I like the most. I'm sure there are one I've missed and some that might be surprising but if it aired on Adult Swim - I can use it. I didn't use any characters from either Robot Chicken or Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! as they are basically clip shows and while good, the re-occurring characters aren't used enough. Also, it turns out H. Jon Benjamin is the voice for half these shows. 50. Chains     Fat Guy Stuck in Internet 49. Assy McGee    Assy McGee H. Jon Benjamin plays the mayor. 48. The Mayor    Tom Goes to the Mayor A Picture of Jeff Goldbloom instead of the Mayor, but this was by far the funniest thing on the show. 47. Inuyasha    Inuyasha 46. Vexing Devil Giving an opponent a choice is never a good idea. However I really feel like it's win win here in the aggressive deck. A 4/3 for one will almost always be worth a card. So the real question is - is it worth a card to deal 4 damage for a red? It's not quite Flame Slash good in a control deck, or as great top deck as Thunderous Wrath but better than Thunderbolt or Lava Axe . 19. Scute Mob Not a true one drop. But by turn six hopefully you are going get a hydra-like insect that will quickly get insanely huge if not dealt with. My biggest issue is that it doesn't have trample. It's still a great costed creature that can do some work if unchecked. There are lots of ways to give it Trample in Green not named Rancor . 18. Dragonmaster Outcast And yet another non-true o
