Filmed in the driest desert in the world and that's how the whole movie sort of feels. Easily the worst of the Daniel Craig movies. I think the writer's strike had a big effect on the writing of the movie as they didn't have it finished going into production. It picks up right where Casino leaves off with a car chase, which is probably the best action scene in the movie. The other memorable scene is the end with a building on fire in the desert, but Bond never really seems in danger even diving out of a plane with no chute. The spy investigation and the Opera scene is my favorite part of the movie. The whole movie also kind of feels like one long revenge scene, but it never really gets its footing. The plane chase and dive are pretty sweet. The gun barrel scene happens at the end of the movie. It was a rushed post production, but they did start working on it before Casino had gotten started. The title isn't great, Bond is looking for his Quantum and it's also the name of the organization? Felix Leiter returns, but still no Q or Moneypenny here. I don't know how much action director Marc Forster had prior to this movie, but amount of action is not really it's weak area. First major role for Olga Kurylenko and she does well. She was picked out of a group of 400, but was the least nervous. Ultimately I don't think Mathieu Amalric's Dominic Greene is that imposing of a villain, especially compared to Mads Mikkelsen, Javier Bardem, Christoph Waltz and Rami Malek. Greene had no distinguishing features or even knew how to fight. Highest rotten tomatoes audience score up to this point, for those who think this is the worst one ever made. Craig was repeatedly injured on set. 6 filming locations is a high. The shortest Bond movie but also the 3rd highest grossing.
